The deluxe flushable unit adds a flush and a sink, good for weddings and longer events. The ADA accessible unit gives wheelchair users a 60 inch turning circle under ADA Standards section 304.3.1 and a 32 inch clear door under section 404.2.3. For festivals, concerts and upscale gatherings, a restroom trailer beats any single unit. People also call these porta johns or portable restrooms; same thing, different name. How does service and cleaning work?
Rentals include a weekly service visit. That baseline, one visit per week for up to 10 users over a 40 hour week, comes from the ANSI/PSAI Z4.3 sanitation standard. Heavy use gets more frequent service; just say so when you book. A visit pumps the tank, refills paper and sanitizer and wipes the unit down. Do you handle OSHA and ADA site requirements?
Yes. On a construction site OSHA 1926.51(c)(1) sets the toilet count: one facility for up to 20 workers, then one seat and one urinal per 40 workers as the crew grows. Where crews apply paints, coatings, herbicides or insecticides, OSHA 1926.51(f)(1) calls for washing facilities, so pair units with a handwashing station or a portable sink. Those sinks meet 29 CFR 1910.141(d)(2), which wants soap and towels, not just sanitizer. See handwashing requirements for the detail. When you cluster single units, ADA Standards section 213.2 requires at least 5 percent, and never fewer than one, to be accessible; our ADA restroom requirements guide covers it. What else can you rent for a job site or event?
Plenty. Roll-off dumpsters come in 10, 20, 30 and 40 yard sizes; check dumpster sizes and dimensions and what cannot go in a dumpster before you fill one. Watch the dumpster weight limits so you avoid overage. For gear and tools, rent a 20ft or 40ft storage container, or a mobile office trailer; pricing on storage container rental cost. Events lean on crowd control barriers and chain link fence. Site power? We do temporary power poles. Septic work runs from tank cleaning to spotting warning signs. A residential tank is typically pumped every 3 to 5 years, driven by tank and household size.
Do you need a permit in Milwaukee?
Maybe, and it depends on where the unit sits. On private property, usually no. In the public right of way, a permit is required to obstruct or occupy a public way in Milwaukee, regulated under the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Chapter 115, Street Construction and Work on Public Ways, which includes section 115-32 on obstructions.
